Hello everyone,

We are eight students from the course Tuinbouw Akkerbouw (Horticulture and Agriculture) at the HAS Green Academy in 's-Hertogenbosch. During this schoolyear we are busy with our cultivation project. In our cultivation project we are growing onions sets which are planted by hand, so we started with little onions. We grow these onions on 3 different types of cultivation systems (regular system, raised system, potato system). With this project we want to investigate whether the use of different cultivation systems causes differences in the yield, size grading, quality and rootability of the onions. Furthermore we look at the moisture balance in the cultivation systems. In the future, the weather will become increasingly grim with wet winters and dry summers.
